FR-AI / ANALYSIS

Why it is worth attention

It goes beyond simple agent orchestration by providing a full company operating system with a built-in simulation engine, making it immediately usable for demos and development without real agents.

Who it is for

  • Startups and companies building AI-augmented workflows
  • Developers creating agentic systems or internal tools
  • Product managers and designers prototyping operational dashboards
  • Open-source contributors interested in agent collaboration platforms

Use cases

  • Manage a mixed team of humans and AI agents with task delegation, approvals, and goal tracking
  • Monitor real-time company metrics including burn rate, pending approvals, and agent performance
  • Automate CEO briefs and audit logs from live operational state
  • Prototype and demo agent-driven company operations using the simulation engine

Strengths

  • Comprehensive feature set covering 12 operating views (Command, Work, Goals, Finance, etc.)
  • Built-in simulation engine that makes the system functional out-of-the-box without external agents
  • Local-first architecture with optional Kimi CLI integration for real agent chat, prioritizing security
  • Modern stack (React 19, TypeScript strict, Vite 6) with an MIT license and active contribution culture

Considerations

  • Real AI agent chat requires the separate Kimi Code CLI to be installed and authenticated locally
  • OAuth device flow tokens are not persisted across sessions, potentially requiring re-authentication
  • Project is still in early development (roadmap focuses on hardening, tests, and CI), so production readiness is not yet proven

README quick start

Meridian OS

An open-source company OS for running teams of humans and AI agents from one operational console.

Meridian OS is an operational control plane for companies made of humans and AI agents.

Why

Agent orchestration is not enough to run a company. A company OS needs to know who owns what, which goals matter, what work is blocked, how fast tokens and dollars are burning, what approvals are pending, and what happened after the operator closed the tab.

Meridian brings those surfaces into one live system. The result is less "chat with an agent" and more "talk to the company, inspect its state, and approve the moments that matter."

Features

ViewWhat it does
CommandOperator cockpit with north-star metrics, risk radar, pending approvals, department envelopes, and live heartbeat feed.
Kimi SpaceChat with agents; OS commands create tasks, assign work, move statuses, install skills, and route free-form chat to local Kimi when available.
WorkKanban and list modes with filters, priorities, goal alignment, delegation context, thread history, and tool-call traces.
GoalsMission -> company -> team alignment tree with key results and owner context.
Org ChartRecursive company tree with agent dossiers and reporting lines.
AgentsSortable scoreboard for runtime, status, budget, success rate, throughput, and installed skills.
SkillsInstallable capability packs credited to their sources, with category metadata and runtime toggles.
ApprovalsGovernance inbox for spend, hire, override, publish, and terminate decisions with policy checks.
FinanceBurn charts, department envelopes, projections, and model/token ledger.
ActivityImmutable audit log of heartbeats, decisions, delegation, spend, and system events with JSON export.
ReportsAuto-generated CEO briefs from the current operating state.

The Company Is Alive

Meridian ships with a simulation engine that ticks about every 2.6 seconds. While it is running, AI agents send heartbeats, tasks advance, token counts grow, budget lines accrue spend, and the audit log keeps recording a
